HCOS CC Ignite Theatre Director – Abbotsford

Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS) is a K-12 Provincial Online Learning School, providing fully accredited, Christian education to students in BC. As one of Western Canada’s largest online schools, we connect teachers with families and students to provide guidance and support via personalized, online, and face-to-face options.

We are looking for a passionate, Christ-centred Acting Instructor to join our Artistic Directing team at Ignite Theatre. The successful candidate will audition and weekly instruct our students in the craft of acting, helping them to take ownership of their assigned characters via bringing them to life through their bodies and utilizing the stage effectively. The successful candidate will also oversee the vision for our production and successfully bring it to the stage in its entirety. They will report directly to teacher/executive producer and work in collaboration with the choreographer and vocal instructor as well as our Production Team [sets, props, costumes, hair & make-up, etc].This position requires a high degree of professional competence and excellent communication and team-thinking skills. Responsibilities:

• Auditioning our students
• Delivering weekly instruction [30 Wednesdays]
• Scheduling week and instruction time for Choreographer/Vocal Instructor
• Crafting weekly emails to parents & students
• Creating and communicating the production vision, and clarifying as needed
• Participating in monthly Production Team meetings and Directing Team meetings
• Ongoing communication with Directing Team/Executive Producer, as needed
• Attend Ignite Theatre Christmas Party [Dec], Parent Meetings [Sept & May], Cast Party (June)
