HCOS Adult Student Grad Advisor – Grad Program

Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS) is a K-12 Provincial Online Learning School, providing fully accredited, Christian education to students in BC. As one of Western Canada’s largest online schools, we connect teachers with families and students to provide guidance and support via personalized, online, and face-to-face options.

HCOS has an opening for an Adult Student Grad Advisor working with the Grad Program. This is a remote position at 12 hours per week. The primary role of this position is to support Adult Grad Program (AGP) students with course planning and grad-related information. 

As the Grad Program – Adult Student Grad Advisor, your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Collaborate with school leaders to promote mission, vision, values and school-wide goals
• Working with Director and Assistant Director of Grad to plan and contribute toward success of the division
• Collaborate with other grad advisors, BCOS intake staff to help students transition to the AGP as appropriate
• Assign students to courses and help plan their graduation path
• Foster positive relationship with stakeholders
• Communicate regularly to students regarding Grad Program information
• Monitor overall adult Grad Program student progress
• Direct teacher support concerns to Director
• Connect students with Learning Services when needed

We are looking for someone with the following Qualifications & Skills:

• Demonstrated commitment and lifestyle reflective of a relationship with Jesus Christ
• BC Certified Teacher, preferred
• Knowledge of HCOS systems is an asset, including Brightspace and Encom
• Able to be discreet and handle confidential information sensitively
• Professional time management and communication skills
• Proactive, systems thinking, relationship and solutions-oriented
• Flexible attitude towards innovation and change
• Technologically proficient
• Some travel required
