HCOS Education Assistant – Community Connections

HCOS is a thriving online learning community offering K-12 home and online education to students across the province. HCOS provides flexible solutions and programming tailored to every child’s learning journey. HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who are resourceful and innovative educators, providing student support to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department.

We are looking for part-time Education Assistants to work at Community Connections (CC). CCs support home educators by offering students a one day-a-week classroom experience at various onsite locations across BC. Additional in-home student support opportunities may also be available.

• Sumas CC – Abbotsford, Tuesdays K/1 – 8:55 – 3:25
• Victoria CC+, Tuesdays – two positions K-2 & 6/7 – 8:45– 3:15
• Prince George – Thursdays, Grade 3 – 9:15– 2:15

As a Community Connections Education Assistant, your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Provide the social, spiritual, and academic learning needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person
• Support students individually or in small groups
• Collaborate with teaching staff to support delivery of personalized learning opportunities
• Build relationships with families, teachers and other EAs
• Support IEP goals

• Experience in differentiating learning for students of various proficiency levels

Wage:

• $23.50 – $27.58 depending on experience and certifications
